Re: Why mirrorless over dslr?

I have a Lumix G5 and a Canon 6D

The G5 is an excellent camera. I like the light weight and the 2X crop factor for wildlife photos. Great for general use.

I bought the 6D for some serious macro photography. It is heavy and a pain to carry but there are accessories available to Canon and Nikon that are not available for Panasonic. Canon makes a macro lens capable of 5X magnification (MPE 65). They also make a twin flash for macro work. This has made a huge difference in what I can take pictures of. Dedicated flashes for DSLRs have many more features than the Lumix flash.

There are other accessories for Canon and Nikon from third parties. I have a third party rf transceiver kit for off camera flash.

Accessories for the Camera can make a big difference if you are into that type of photography.
