Ken Rockwell makes ridiculously ignorant claims about Earth's temperature history

From his website:

"Normally new records for just about everything get set simply as random variation exceeds the previous limit, but in this case, the world's temperatures probably peaked about a hundred years ago. The Earth's mean temperature follows a regular cycle with a period of several hundred thousand years, so it's difficult to predict exactly where we are on this much larger cycle"

The world's temperature did not peak a hundred years ago.

The Earth's mean temperature does not follow a regular cycle with a period of several hundred thousand years.

In addition, his conclusion (difficult to predict where Earth is in its temperature cycle) does not follow from his premise. It also ignores the fact that he made such a prediction a sentence earlier, one that is demonstrably wrong.

Thanks for playing Ken, try again!
