I use my Tokina 100mm f2.8 macro for portraits. It's nice lens and I like it.
Though I will be buying Nikon 85mm 1.8G (less possible Sigma 85mm 1.4 for portraits in future).

Then you can hse it also as walk-around as it's lighter and focuses faster.
Plus you get constant aperture, say f1.8 with Nikon 85mm 1.8G while macro lens will increase the min aperture the closer you get to the subject.
