Can you tell ISO 3200 from ISO 12800?
Jul 10, 2013

Just trying to settle an old and long discussion from this thread . The proposition is that ISO 12800 on Full Frame is like ISO 3200 on Four Thirds. So here are some crops from DPReview's studio scene comparison. Eight of them are from full frame cameras exposed for 12800 ISO, two of them are from Four Thirds cameras exposed for 3200 ISO. The processing is the same. They have each been processed using RPP using VCDMF demosaicking, the K64 colour style. There is no NR or sharpening. They have been level adjusted to get close to the same brightness and resampled using Lanczos to the pixel height of the smallest image, then cropped 500x500. Here they are:

The question is: Which one of these images do think most likely to be Four Thirds at ISO 3200? (two of them are). Your participation is appreciated.
