End of story? Maybe. The whole story? No.

In addition to geotagging photos and AVCHD videos [if a "G" video format is selected], the GPS results in other differences due to GPS capabilities and resulting design considerations:

  • ZS20 only has 12 MB internal image storage; ZS19 has 70 MB
  • ZS20 cannot store video to internal memory
  • ZS20 supports automatic clock setting - synchronized to GPS sources
  • ZS20 in-camera memory card formatting will also erase "protected" images

Note that GPS positioning may not work in China nor its border regions. Also note that some countries may regulate the use of GPS technology, which could result in restrictions on where the ZS20 may be used or confiscation of the ZS20 camera.

Well, not yet the end of story. And this is something very important (for me at least):

While recording video you can ONLY take ONE photo with the ZS20. With the ZS19 you can take up to 12 photos, and this is because these photos are saved to the internal memory (which is larger in the ZS19).

Not very important unless you want to record everyone singing the happy birthday AND you want to take some pictures when your kid blows out the candles...
