I just don't understand why it is that people are always in such a rush to show that camera A is going to get rid of camera B. People with mirrorless are dying to see DSLR's go away because it will prove that their mirrorless camera is better. People are now anxiously trying to show that the 70D is better than and thus the replacement for the 7D. They want to rush to declare this and not wait to see if / when the 7D Mk II is announced, which is surely will be.

Canon isn't going to downgrade their professional-level APS-C camera. (As professional as any APS-C is.) Not with slower burst, not with composite body, not with another few years of the same AF (approximately) as the 7D has had for four years already, not with shallower buffer, not with one processor where they can have two.

When you watch a baseball game, do you watch half of the first inning and then declare the team that just had their at-bat the winner before the other team even gets up to bat?

The 7D Mark II will eliminate any doubt about what the replacement for the 7D is.
