I really don't get this "unbalanced" complaint.

Have you tried cameras like the 60D and 7D side by side? I have and the 60D was unbalanced with any lens I had, maybe with the exception of the 50mm f/1.8.

Every camera and lens combo has a center of gravity.

Which happens to be further away from your body and thus less stable and comfortable to hold if your camera is too light and small as the center of gravity shifts away from your body!

Anyways, I think the whole "balance/unbalanced" issue is overblown. Camera lenses and bodies come in a variety of sizes, weights and shapes, and with good holding technique practically any lens/body combo can feel balanced.

I beg to differ, having just returned from shooting F1 cars at the Nürburgring I wouldn't have tried with the 60D because I would have needed back pain medication afterwards due to the center of gravity being further away from my body and thus putting more strain on by spine.
