If you're into landscapes then I can't recommend enough getting a Graduated Neutral Density filter and circular polarizer - if you don't use them already. These two things helped me getting perfect exposure, greater contrast and more saturated colours, not to mention more detailed sky/controlled water reflections - rather than blown/washed out sky and bleak foreground.

However, with the drop in light that both bring - I had to use a tripod to get sharp shots for most of the images I took - especially when dipping down to 1/40-1/8 at base iso.

GND's also work great with architecture although you might need to do a little brush work to raise the exposure on parts where buildings overlap with the darkened gradient.  As you can see I just love to shoot straight into the sun's direction!
