200mm is not 320mm on a rebel

something i read time and time again is that the crop cameras increase the range of the lens by that crop. This of course is not true. Please remember that simply multiplying the crop factor and focal length gives you the field of view, not the crop factor. For the crop factor you must compare resolution also. So if i compare my rebel and 6d for crop factor the actual crop factor of the rebel is 1.44. because its 1.6 x 18/20. if you compare the rebel to the 5d mkiii the affective crop becomes just 1.29.

So my 200mm on my 6d becomes a crop of 288mm in comparison to my 6d, not 320mm as many posts would leave you thinking.
