Digitizing 35mm slides and negatives with DSLR macro lens???
Jul 4, 2013

I read on this forum about a guy using a DSLR with a macro lens and backlighting to make a digital copy of a slide or negative. I think they use a slide or negative holder with a black surround. My question is in taking the image do you have the shinny or dull slide or negative facing the lens?

My reason for wanting to try this is I have an Epson V500 scanner and I was very disappointed in the scan results I got---- even after using the maximum settings and saving as a TIF and I followed the instructions. One of my oldest digital P&S cameras would produce better results.

Thanks, Kent
