70mp resolution?

A 10000 x 7096 pixel, 36x24mm, sensor that is already on the market.

I'm thinking the lenses you buy today, should be engineered for like resolution, because if it is possible now, it won't take long before the price drops where it will be possible to put it into a mass market camera. If you bought all new lenses today, you probably would still be using them when this hits the market, right?

With that said, and the updates that all the manufacturers are doing with their lenses, the question about having to buy all new lenses for FF seem like a mute point.  Even if you are planning to stick with APS-C, you probably will want to update your lenses. An APS-C sensor might not have the same resolution, but we now know that 3.1μm pixel pitch is possible in FF, so it's possible in APS-C.

Doesn't it seem like Sigma, Nikon, and Canon are upping the performance of their lenses to amazing levels lately? Maybe they are thinking it isn't going to take to long before their older lenses just aren't keeping up?

Thank you
Russell
