Any alternative to Photoshop for truely non destructive editing?

To further explain - I depend upon a series of plugins that operate as Smart Filters upon the image that I've opened as a Smart Object from ACR. As far as I can tell there's no way to emulate the ability to tweak individual plugin settings with either Aperture or LightRoom in the same, completely non destructive, way as with PhotoShop. Both these applications create TIF files for the plugin to operate on, and there's no record of the settings that were applied or ability to change them after the fact.

Anything I'm missing?

Thanks

Kevin
