First, a big THANK you to all respondents.

Second, I need to practise my Topaz Remask a LOT more

Lastly, all posted versions, images or masks were incredibly good

It appears there isn't much between Topaz Remask and Vertus. You have shown that they can both do a great job if handled expertly/properly. I don't know what extraction method PixelP used but his mask (sent to me by message) was top class too.

As I had Mike's mask as well, I worked with both Mike's and PixelP's masks to produce my own final edit and background. Both masks were near perfect. Mike's had an almost imperceptible white line along the left side of the boy's face (right of image) and PixelP's mask was slightly soft on the left shoulder and part of the arm (right of image). Both were only detectable at large magnifications. So, I combined the two masks, using PixelP's head and Mike's body to make my final mask. Here is the result:

Combined Mask (Mike's & PixelP's) + my edit

A cropped version of the final image

Patsy's extraction looks perfect too, and so does Jack's who's b/g I particularly liked.

Thanks for the laugh JJMack. I will tell the boy that's how he'd look behind that wall!...

All in all, there was very little between the masks used by all of you and that leaves me with the big task of catching up with you!...

Many-many thanks for your time and effort
