Re: About moderation - Feedback
In reply to Ed B, Jun 28, 2013

I for one have had a post deleted by a moderator. They were nice enought to send me a PM telling me they were doing it. What was not provided was an explaination of what rule was violated, other than my post was "in bad taste".

To me, this is where moderation of this forum could use a little tweaking. If something is being moderated, there should be a clear explaination as to what rule was violated. Currently I see too much "subjective" moderation.

There will always be moderator that are strict, and some that let things slide a little. I for one think a moderated forum ensures a better user experience. However, it needs to be done objectively and not subjectively. The moderator should be required to cite the rule that's being violated to the offender. This would ensure a little more consistency amongs the moderation team, and would prevent users from feeling violated.
