The question was: if I install OSX on a non-Apple system, what is the loss to Apple caused by this. Your response: lost Mac computer sales.

Which it is from a probabilistic point of view.

And it is just as much gained computer sales from hackintosh users deciding they want to go all the way and buy a Mac, which was not a possibility for them when they started playing with hackintosh on cheap or already available hardware.

Unless you have concrete support for this "probabilistic point of view" you only made it up, and it's worth exactly what you got paid to do that. Nothing.

And you cannot prove your hypothesis [that hackintoshes are a net benefit to Apple] either. But that was not what this thread was all about (not least since I never said anything about the existence or extent of the positive 'PR' Hackintoshes could provide).

What happened was that you made your entrance into this thread with claiming that no laws are broken by Hackintosh users. And the end of your chain of reasoning is now that since Hackintoshes might be a net benefit to Apple, Apple might in the end not be the damaged party and without any damaged party no law has been broken.

On a small detour you also made the claim that granting a limited license to intellectual property is not possible under current law.
