I was not saying Sigma should give up DSLR. A smaller SD, like Nikon D5100, would be quite desirable. But the strength of Sigma is in Merrill sensor’s resolution density. They should really develop compact system around their strength. Expecting many customers to buy all the 3 DPM's is a stretching it too much. But if it were three lens+sensor cartridges, quite a few may get on board.

FF? I don’t see it. It is probably somewhere beyond the horizon, though. I would not be surprised if Nikon’s patent law suit against Sigma and SD1 pricing, and the subsequent new pricing of the renamed SD1 immediately after D800 was not a coincidence.
