I don't have any jpegs - just shoot raw. For the first few days I had a loaner in March, I did some jpeg test shots (because there was no Adobe raw support yet). Anything above 1600 had some level of noise reduction turned on (even when you chose "off" in the menus) and I didn't like their noise reduction at all. Lots of smearing and artifacts relative to the raw file with grain.

Here's a 6400 raw file with no processing other than cropping and about 25% noise reduction in Lightroom, to get an idea of how clean these files CAN be if that's your preference.


Hi Ray, that's amazing for a file at iso 6400. I wonder, were the raw files from the Ricoh this clean and detailed at 6400?...
