New printer but what about paper?
Try using the corresponding Canon paper profiles as a test. For common papers like Glossy or Luster, the Epson and Canon papers may be close enough that the Canon paper profiles will do a decent job when printing to the Epson papers.
If that test doesn't give good enough results for you, you can have custom profiles made. Just do an online search for custom printer profiles. The cost for a few papers will be far less than the time and expense of purchasing and learning to use a custom profile system of your own.
Or you could rent a ColorMunki Photo for a few days
