As long as sports photography exists, the SLR will not die easily. I can imagine it to be replaced by extremely fast FPS mirrorless cameras in the next decade, but they will still be bulky because of ergonomics and to better handle those big telephoto lenses.

So no, I can't imagine any sports shooter using a cellphone, even if it's connected to a telephoto lens.
