There are a few things that could throw a wrench in this optimistic future. At the rate of genetically damaging pollution we have been spreading around, evolution may be a mute point. In the last 68 years, thousands of nuclear devices exploded in the world, Several significant nuclear power accidents, (with more guaranteed to be on the way) as well as the use of depleted uranium mutations (2-3 thousand tons in Iraq alone) It could, if not taken seriously enough to change policy regarding these dangerous materials, weaken out genetic foundations in the next few generations to the point that we do not survive.
