You may or may not like portriature but the fact of the matter is that a beautfull 85 mm lens can produce lots of extraordinary images that do not include a head.

Go to Flickr and search 85 mm and look at the images.  Many of them could not have been produced by any wide angle lens.

I personally would prefer to see a MILC because for me one specialty camera is enough.

I've owned plenty of lenses in the 85mm range, and I understand what they're useful for. It's just not a focal length that I'm interested in for my everyday camera. I can probably count on one hand how many times I used my Leica 90mm for my own work. I used my Sony ZA 85 more, because I was using it professionally, but rarely for my personal work.

The beauty of a single focal length is that it helps unify a vision and give cohesion to the work, but I understand that it isn't for everyone.
