Helping finding the right micro 4/3 for me...
Jun 9, 2013

Hey guys, after wanting a DSLR forever I bought a D7000 2 years ago, and after having had it I realize I'll never be the guy with a bag of camera gear taking an assortment of lenses out with me. I don't see myself wanting to do a lot of settings tweaking to capture particular shots. I'd like to have a setup for day shooting and a setup for night shooting pretty much. That sounds lazy, but I just want a camera that helps me get what I see. I don't want a camera I have to 'push' really hard to take photos the way I see them. I like taking stark, wide shots of still scenery with lots of dramatic open space, and I like taking photos of people, primarily in low light.

Examples of what I lean towards hoping to achieve, however not many of these really show off the low-light, wide photos I hope to capture:

You can see pics I've taken with my D7000 in this set on flickr:
Here are my Flickr favorites as well:
My favorite cameras I've owned have been the Panasonic DMC-LX3, my lil Lomo LCA, and my Olympus EP2 half-frame. God, I love what I got out of that Panasonic, the wide-angle was fantastic. If only I could have that AND something…. prime? So that I could get nice bokeh and take better portraits...
I'm looking at micro 4/3 cameras and am wondering what models and lenses I should go with? I'm in the range of $1500 to $2000 right now, with some flexibility. I was leaning towards the Olympus OM-D, however I'm seeing lots of great reviews for the Fuji X series. The Fuji X-Pro1 is looking to be a serious contender to me paired with the 35mm 1.4.

I don't know, I just really need some help deciding and wanted to establish a dialogue. Thank you!!!
