Is my monitor calibrated?
Jun 8, 2013

Ok so I've used the Windows 7 built-in calibrator along with setting as close to D65 as possible (Warm 2 with my samsung monitor). Felt satisfied until I saw my picture with a mac at the apple store. It looked darker than intended.
For example, I shot this scenic sunset. Here you're supposed to see the grass/green hill visibly thanks to a little retouching. At the apple store (are their macs calibrated? I was told Apple has good gamut with their products), I had to look hard / bend the screen downwards to see the green hill. The grass looked almost invisible along with the trees / houses losing definition.
So now I'm wondering if my calibration with windows 7 went wrong. I'd love to purchase Spyder but I simply don't have the money for it. Can anyone one of you with a calibrated monitor tell me if you can see the green hill in this picture?

And for a little reassurance, can you see the trees in this picture?
