After Work Walkabout

The campus I work on has a nice lanscaped area all around it and a big lake out back that's teeming with wildlife, from Deer to Dragonflies.  So, another lovely sunny day so after I finished I went for a walk rather than hit the rush hour traffic for the 50 mile drive home.

The Common Blue Butterflies were plentiful but always on the move and very skittish and there was an almost constant breeze keeping everything in motion.  Perseverence and a lot of time on my knees got a couple of decent shots though. The Female Hairy Dragonfly was my first Dragonfly sighting of the year, and this one flew straight up and settled on my leg before zipping off again to eat her prey.
