Sharing Files between 808 and iPad

I have an 808 which is always with me but something I can't figure out is how to I get the 808 and iPad to "talk" to one another? I bought ShutterSnitch for the iPad but failed to make the iPad see the 808. I know very little about FTP and both the iPad and 808 can be FTP clients or servers.

There's something about the iPad which is that it cannot connect to my 808 via Bluetooth. I have unsuccessfully tried connecting them both vis Wifi.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
