A pair of native birds...

Sulphur-crested cockatoo (x2)

These are by no means my favourite bird!!! They are loud and raucous, fly in plague proportions about the place, swooping metres over your head and SCREECHING their horribly cries so that you either jump out of your skin, or your blood curdles. (Think of the effect scratching chalk has.) In addition, they chew almost anything they get a fancy for, like wood trim around your house, and any unripe fruit you're trying to grow. Then they drop the chewed fruit in your yard - or someone else's, and go for another.

Don't believe me?

try this turned up - a mild record of their behaviour

or click on "Sulphur-crested cockatoo" here.

Anyway, these two were courting in a nearby tree today, and from their very low croaking sounds (mainly from the male on the RHS), I thought I could suspend my dislike of them enough to take a picture. Well, here is some incipient mating behaviour, so...

A coquette two...

"Is that atom14 down there?"                                                             "I think it is."
