Cameras give you options to shoot raw, jpg large, medium, and small for a reason.

Each option has its own use, drawbacks and benefits. Use what you are comfortable with but take the time to experiment.

There is no right or wrong answer. Everyone places different values on photos and acceptable quality levels.

I was a JPG shooter at first. (didn't know what raw was and didn't want to install more software on PC) I wasn't happy with the photos that came out of the camera and thought it might be time to upgrade to a better lens. I started researching for a betters lens and came across an article about post processing.

I experimented and my images came to life. From then on I always shoot RAW for important images. There is no image that cannot be improved after the shot has been taken.
