m.ZD 75-300 f4.8-6.7 II vs. [you know]
May 23, 2013

Just checking out the 75-300.   I don't pack the 100-300 as a rule, so I picked up the 75-300 for the size/weight comparison, thinking that difference may have me packing it more routinely.

I've a split personality on what to carry.   When in the countryside I want flexible AF zooms that cover the ultra-wa to the telephoto for wildlife - in a perfect world.   When in the city I'll avail the use of AF lenses, but mainly favor the MF kind.   While I've been collecting lenses for a while now, I'm in the process of figuring out the optimal lens groups to carry on different types of outings.

So while it appears I'll be selling the Lumix 100-300, I don't want to jump the gun.   These are two studies at 300mm with the 75-300 with a remote triggered Metz 50 AF-1 (set up about 4-5' below subject), from a blind about 20' away.   A little processing in Photogene for the moment (until I can get home to toy with the RAWs).

This Sucker has been drilling on my rain gutter for days now.
