Any Suggestions for Replacing Flickr?

Those of us who use Flickr as a photo-hosting website, got a rude surprise today. It's a real train-wreck. They not only made it difficult, if not impossible to use as before, but they greatly increased the contrast on the picture display. They all look like gaudy HDR photos now, which is something I'd never produce. They've changed the subscription structure into new categories for paying customers, that don't make any sense to me. Maybe there's another good hosting-service elsewhere, that has resisted moving toward so-called social-networking?

Some of the unanimously-negative comments on Flickr, have suggested that this is the new portable tablet version and they forgot to make a version for regular use. There's about as much chance that they'll give us back the older format, as there is that Sony will issue firmware upgrades.
