I couldn't agree more about the X-E1. Recently returned from Vienna and in the museums I used ISO 6400 regularly (and only jpeg) and the results were terrific. I have to say, though, that as good as the 18-55 is, the 35mm 1.4 is just phenomenal (only two lenses I have at the moment). Now I can't decide whether to buy the 14mm or wait for the new wide angle zoom (though that's a ways off I've read). What a wonderful system.

As far as Germany is concerned, you should go back. We have roots there and in fact my sister was born near Frankfurt. Bavaria is one of my favorite regions (what's not too like, good beer, good food, great cars...). Love it and we've been there on vacation a couple of times.
