I had a similar dilemma for my recently purchased 60D and in the end i opted for a less expensive but I think very good Sigma 10-20 f4-5.6. I'm no expert but I am delighted with the results.

It does exactly what I wanted it to do at a considerably cheaper price. I accept the Canon 10-22 may be 'better' but I am not a professional and frankly it does not bother me because the results are excellent to my eye!
