RAW vs JPG ... same old argument, no need for RAW, right?

*.jpeg the future of photography for you? I used a feature in the X-E1 the bracketing and for some reason I got 3 jpg instead of the usual RAW I shoot in, all photos were taken in *.jpeg. When I loaded the photos into Capture One I noticed that neitehr highlight recovery, nor shadow recovery worked particularely well, couldn't put my finger on it at first but then checked the image and found that it was a *.jpeg. The photo series were taken of a cityscape after dark.

Sounds like the old Ken Rockwell statement to me when he said that he didn't need RAW, because he got it right in camera.
