BTW: There is a report from MightyMike that IIs AF performance with long tele is worth than on K-5.

That is in line with my experience, and may answer a question I asked below.

IIRC: MightyMike wrote that when using the K-5 and his Sigma 500mm f4.5 and trying to focus on a bird that was inside a bunch of branches of a tree that if it did not lock on the bird at least it locked on one of the branches. He also reported that with the K-5 IIs it would not lock on either the bird or one of the branches. As far as I know, MightyMike has made no other claims considering AF performance of K-5 IIs versus K-5. Perhaps Mike will see this and give us an update if he has any.

The only other thing I have read comparing AF performance of the K-5 IIs versus the K-5 was from the Pentax Forums, in which it was written and verified by a couple of folks, that when using a Sigma 500mm f4.5 with a 2X teleconverter, the K-5 produced more consistant lock on's and sharper images than the K-5 IIs did.

Cheers.
