If you want to take some outstanding images, take a longer fast lens (in your case the 105mm). You need fast glass. The best would be a 85mm 1.4 or 1.8.

You sure about the non-environmental photos? When you're at a seaside location don't you think the people will want pictures of themselves at the location that they're at? Not everyone wants a closeup. Also, every photographer has their own style of shooting.
