When my brother got married I wasn't the main photographer so I brought whatever I wanted and used whatever I wanted. I ended up using the 28-300 and the 24mm f/1.4G the majority of the time on my D700. The 24mm got the most use and the pictures that came out of it were perfect for large groups and environmental pictures. I used a 50mm f/1.4 a couple times and the 85mm f/1.8 never left the bag. The SB-900 sucked the big one with it overheating so often. I had to go to the SB-600 too often.

Overall, though, I think my pictures came out fine. I took a ton more pictures than the official photographer, which I thought strange since they flew him out from Hawaii, but whatever. I got the photos they wanted and the "real" photographer did a nice job with the photos he took. He used a slower Tamron zoom on his lower model (not a high end) Canon for most of his pictures.
