Has anyone experienced weird E-PL2 -- 20mm f/1.7 interaction?
May 14, 2013

Today at lunch I met a guy via Craigslist to see about buying his Pany 20mm lens.  I have the 2 kit lenses for my E-PL2 but wanted something brighter for indoor shots.

But for some reason, the camera refused to focus on medium- to long-distance objects after focusing at short range.  If you turned off the camera and turned it on again, it would focus on far objects, but once you focused at a closer object (4-5 ft.) it would lock up.  This occured in both Aperture and iAuto modes.  Can anyone explain why this might happen?

There also seemed to be a lot of vignetting in the LCD.  I don't have shading compensation "on" in my camera's settings.  Would that have made a difference?

I ended up taking a pass.  The lens was working perfectly on the owner's E-P1, but if it doesn't work on mine then what's the point.
