I’m really not sure what options you have if you have a flat based fluid head on a ‘photography’ tripod.  If you had the legs and were looking to adapt them for video you might be able to employ a bowl adapter possibly, but a flat based fluid head on legs with no bowl might not have any options?  Anyone?

I was lucky to spot this need prior to purchasing legs and figured out the whole ‘bowl’ aspect of a video tripod and what function they performed.  I picked up some Manfrotto 755XB legs on Ebay that are in nearly perfect condition and not too crazy expensive.

My videos might still suck, but they are perfectly level…. And they pan/tilt just as smoothly as I can manage to operate the head.

I believe the 755 legs are a perfect match for the 701hdv head too ? How do you rate these legs ?
