Is it sharp? Some say there is a falloff at the edges on APS-C, which doesn't seem to be the case when used on FF.

Would be interesting to see, if the 35mm f1.4 can beat the 30mm f2.8 on the DP2M in regards to sharpness.

The "old" 30mm f1.4 certainly can't, but has much better bokeh and overall rendition then the comparatively slow 30mm f2.8 on the DP2M: http://fotogenerellinternational.wordpress.com/2013/04/10/comparison-sigma-dp2m-vs-sigma-sd1-30mm-f1-4/

Sorry for the late answer, i was on vacation again - taking Pictures.

I'am not an authority to judge this lens technicaly at all. But for me, it's the most trustworthy lens for the SD1 i own. It beats even the 85mm 1.4 and for my taste the 50mm 1.4.

I also own the 70mm 2.8 Macro (my once sharpest lens) which is a different story, because of the handling and the aerea of use.

I havn't touched my old the 30mm 1.4 since i have the 35mm. I tried hard by calibrating but i never got the old Version of the 30mm satisfying sharp on my SD1M.

The SD1M with the 35mm 1.4 is a combination which is hard to beat. And yes, the lens is very sharp.

Maybe this helped,

Florian
