The problem it seems is WANTING to use a PW enabled flashmeter with a Quantum T5d-r (which has its own radio system capable of all mode shooting) which forces a compromise between whether radio flashmeter triggering is more important or whether the lighting is important.

Radio convenience is fine, but using it to the detriment of other benefits is pointless. It would be advisable to keep every option open in my opinion and being able to choose  Manual/Auto/TTL/Strobo/A-Fill/TTL-BL - or whatever other mode is available with your flash equipment is worth retaining.

As pointed out a flashmeter can fully operate without radio and will only be worthwhile in Manual output setups.

Theres only one sun. Why do I need more than one light to get a natural result?
