I just had to try it out. I went down to the shop with a solid tripod, remote release, D800E, and used mirror lock up. I only shot it at f8 (Architecture and landscapes are all I care to use this lens for). All I can say is my initial findings are not agreeing with what has been posted so far. Shifted 12mm both directions and the corners are still excellent. Not just good. Excellent. The center is very sharp.

I did a quick f5.6 tilt along a wall and it looked great, but the angle wasn't perfect and I didn't want to spend a long time on it.
