Took a little trip to this Wikipedia web-page:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Photoshop_version_history

... to find the release dates of the following PS CS versions:

CS3 - Apr 16 2007

CS4 - Oct 15 2008

CS5 - Apr 30 2010

CS6 - May 7 2012

So, for good munchkins who eschew those keygens and cracks, the cost of owning the current PS CS over the last 7 years time has been around $34.82 per month(tax not included). Ouch ! ...

But wait, the benevolent Adobe Corporation has a surprise for you. The subscription rate is a mere $19.99 per month (with one-year contract), or $29.99 per month (and you can cancel at

Your math is wrong....One full edition (figure CS3) at $600, then each subsequent edition was about $180...so figure $1200 for a full CS3 then all of the updates afterwards.  Over a 6 year period or 72 months, you are looking at $1200/72 = $16.67 a month....AND I own the old software AND can still use it on my assorted old computers if I need to.  If there are no more updates after this, then my monthly fee for permanent access keeps averaging lower and lower...three years from now, my monthly average will be $10 a month and I will STILL OWN THE SOFTWARE without paying one dime more for it.
