indeed, translucent and not opaque. the epson's are opaque and, therefore, problematic;

problematic for me and of great benefit to epson.

reason: today with three 7900 cartridges flashing 1 percent (ie.,: y, pk, lvm),

i was able to print qty 2 - 17" by 52" canvas's.  qty 5 - 24" by 37" luster prints and qty 3 - 17" by 24" BW silver prints.

i am thinking the machine approximates the ink usage per cartridge. i am not sure how it detects

when it is completely empty.

yet, that would seem to be a sizable error when using the small 150 ml cartridges, especially when the other cartridges that are of higher percentages have dropped several percentages each.

one thing i am thinking is that i have automatic cleanings turned off. i manually do nozzle checks

every 3 or 4 prints and wonder if the cleanings are in some way factored into the total.

if epson had clear or translucent cartridges, one could double check and see if ink remains.
