Tips for shooting in bright sunlight?
May 9, 2013

Any good tips for shooting sports on a bright sunny day. The blown skin is a pain. So much worse this time of year. When so many us of are pale. LOL

I got some runners, with shadows on their right side and blown left arm. Exposing for the highlights. Would have left the shadows(face) even darker. I was able to edit and they arent terrible. But i see so many shots with even lighting. Are they just lucky to have good lighting? There is so much you cannot control.  Yesterdays meet started at 10am. Races 11am. I dont think there was a cloud in the sky, until the afternoon.

I shot some on the west side of the track, while the runners ran north to south. I also shot some later from the south west end of the track. Runners coming toward me.

My photos dont seem overexposed, but I think the really pale skin tones can be a problem. They weren't with those with tan/dark skin tones.  How do you deal with different skin tones?
