Need 1:1 Macro lens on the cheap

i'm looking all over the place..... and the ones on B&H photo was like $500 for some of the Sigma models... yech.   I am considering the legacy Minolta 50mm Macro, but that one isn't 1:1, but rather 1:2.8, or something, is that worse than 1:1?

Im preferring 35mm or longer, and i made this post because i realized my Sigma f1.8 lens, while advertised as Macro, isn't exactly 1:1. Hey, it has fast aperture going for it, i still keep it for that.

Still, what options are there and is it that much of a difference from 1:1 to 1:2.8?
