As it has been said, you may have some problem with the focusing screen and/or whole pentaprism assembly.

I think this is also the root for your metering problem - your viewfinder is vignetted, seems like less light is coming to the prism, the auto exposure meter is in the prism hump, it receives less light, therefore it overexposes the picture as a result.

The viewfinder on Mk2N should be nice uniform rectangle with no vignetting when FF lens is mounted.
