There is a large single user base that these and other companies sell to in the way of training.
Also a large number of Pros and publications make a nice living from Photoshop.
If a significant number of people migrate to diverse non Photoshop applications, this industry just got much more difficult to make a living from. I am sure some will adapt but it will sure shake things up.
In addition, if Adobe ever change there mind, who will ever trust them again?
