RX680 was giving up the ghost. Looking up specs.

2007 era - PM-A840/A940 equivalent to RX680 model in Japan had a rated

Open/Glass/Album longevity of 25/50/200 in the Epson official ink supply catalog from Japan.

Last year's Artisan 730/705A was rated:

15/50/200.

This year's Artisan's with the smaller bodies are rated:

10/50/200.

Basically, OMG! Epson's sliding back to crap ink that'll fade to orange in no time much like the well-known scandal that hit Epson hard back in the early 2000s!
Didn't happen to keep any Canon Japan brochures, but anyone know if Canon's kept their longevity for dye printers as good as years ago or better? Maybe time to switch... >.<
