Sorry mate, but there really is a consensus that Olympus cameras produce great jpegs, and particularly with regards to jpeg colours. It's not just about white balance, as I'm sure you already knew before making your comment.

Panasonic jpegs have improved a lot in recent years, but Olympus jpegs are still better.

You're quite correct when you say that the "average" person doesn't know this, but that's because the "average" person is not a professional or enthusiast photographer with good knowledge of Olympus and Panasonic camera systems.

However, professional and enthusiast photographers who DO have good knowledge of Olympus and Panasonic cameras will tell you that Oly's jpegs are among the best in the business. There is almost universal agreement on this.
