I also have a 50 MC 1.4 PG, a 55 MC 1.9, a 135 MD 3.5 as well as the 45 and the 50 f2.

The late MD's have improved multi-coating but they are not as solidly constructed as the older MC lenses. Another nice thing about the 50/2.0 is that it is sharp from wide open and makes very good bokeh. The colors are wonderful but the lens will not be as technically sharp as a good modern lens such as the 50E1.8.

The 50/1.7's are very common and good but you need at least f2.8 to get decent sharpness overall.
