Well, that was true untill about February 2012, the new Sony sensor Olympus has put in the E-M5 and all subsequent cameras has changed the game. The E-M5 dynamic range is up right there to the level of the Canon 6D (I own both). The noise however strikes in much earlier, but most take a great percentage of pictures in good daylight.. so this is less dissuasive than the lack of DR.
